Cruz re-signing with Minnesota

Nelson Cruz agreed to a one-year, $13 million contract to keep his talents in Minnesota.

In his two seasons with the Twins, Cruz batted .308 with 57 home runs and 141 RBIs in 173 games. In other news:

• Righthander Garrett Richards and Boston finalized a $10 million, one-year contract.

• The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to terms on a one-year, $3.5 million deal with veteran relief pitcher Joakim Soria.

The two-time All-Star spent the past two years with Oakland and finished with a 2.82 ERA in 22 appearances last season.
