Argument at gas station ends with man dead

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at an Alief-area gas station.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was shot to death around 8 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot outside a Valero gas station in the 7900 block of Wilcrest, police said. Authorities believe he was among a group of at least six people talking in the lot when an argument happened. It escalated violently, with someone pulling a gun and shooting the man, officials said.

The victim, who has not been identified, had died by the time first responders arrived.
