Big rig hits bridge, losing load in process
An all-too familiar traffic hazard blocked several lanes of Interstate 10 on Monday morning.
A big rig appeared to have struck the Houston Avenue bridge over the Katy Freeway around 10:20 a.m., according to Houston TranStar. The truck lost its load in the process, leaving debris in at least one lane. The scene was cleared by 2 p.m., according to TranStar.
The bridge is notorious for being the target of loads that are taller than the bridge's clearance. Crews most recently repaired the bridge in October 2020.
