Cardinals, Molina strike 1-year deal
The St. Louis Cardinals and Yadier Molina are finalizing a one-year, $9million deal that will keep the 38-year-old catcher with the only team he has known.
Molina, a nine-time All-Star who also owns nine Gold Gloves, will be entering his 18th season. In other baseball news: • Shohei Ohtani agreed to a two-year, $8.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, avoiding arbitration. The twoway player will make $3
million in 2021 and $5.5 million in 2022.
• Second baseman Jonathan Schoop is staying with the Detroit Tigers, agreeing to a $4.5 million, one-year contract.
