MLS players OK new labor deal

Major League Soccer players have ratified an amended collective bargaining agreement after the league and the union avoided a lockout by striking a deal that runs through the 2027 season. The MLS Board of Governors also approved the agreement. The agreement reached Friday night gives the players their full salaries this season and extends the current CBA for two seasons. … The Chicago Bulls expect forward Lauri Markkanen to miss two to four weeks because of a sprained right shoulder. … Iowa State coach Matt Campbell has agreed to a new eight-year contract through 2028 after leading the Cyclones to the Big 12 title game and a New Year’s Six bowl.
