Reynolds, Lawrence “Larry” Eugene: April 6th, 1937 to January 18th, 2021. Survived by loving wife of 60 years Lee Reynolds, daughter Laurie (Dave) Reynolds, son Ladd Reynolds, granddaugh­ter Beth Greder, sisters Illene Fry, Colleen Nolan, Helen Waldman, brother Kim (Susan) Reynolds, sister-inlaw Millie Reynolds many nieces, nephews and friends! Preceded in death by parents Robert and Hazel Reynolds, brother Donald Reynolds, brothers-in-law Buck Fry, Bill Nolan, Jim Waldman, and nephews Tony Nolan and Justin Reynolds. Larry was born in the small town of Verdel, NE. He finished high school as valedictor­ian in Niobrara, NE. He then hitchhiked to Seattle where he worked at Boeing Aircraft to save up enough money for college. Returning to home he attended the University of Nebraska, where his highest degree was a Masters in Engineerin­g Mechanics. It was also at UNL where he met the love of his life, Leonora “Lee” Cox. They married, and to this union was born a daughter, Laurie, and a son, Ladd. Larry spent his entire career working for the same company, though its name changed a few times – starting with Northern Natural Gas, to Internorth, and finally to Enron. With Enron, he, his wife and son moved to Houston, TX, where he remained until his death. He lived a full life of travel, fishing, and attending Nebraska football games! Shortly before his retirement in 2000, Larry found out he had the blood cancer Multiple Myeloma. Larry fought this illness for twenty years and enrolled in many drug studies that led to current day treatment for the disease. He never let his illness get him down. He kept up the fighting spirit. Larry died from complicati­ons of COVID. Memorial Service to be held February 13th at 11 AM at the Champion’s Club across from Memorial Stadium on the UNL campus. Masks will be required for safety and for the club’s rules. For those who cannot attend, the service will be broadcast on Laurie’s Facebook live as well as Zoom.
