Medicaid expansion needed
Future lives saved
Regarding “Medicaid expansion would give Texas a jolt,” (B1, Feb. 7): Chris Tomlinson does the best job I have seen examining the real measurements of the positive economic impact that Medicaid expansion would bring to Texas. It is going to take a 2-by-4 to get the attention of rural Republicans to understand why their hospitals are closing, why their Black and brown employees are dying disproportionately to the total population, and on and on. Maybe a massive public demonstration in front of the governor’s mansion (peaceful and masked, of course) is the only way to get Gov. Greg Abbott off his anti-Obama quixotism and give Texas this much needed shot in the arm. Cheap grace for him, lives saved for us.
