Design revealed for bond projects worth $36 million

-

A Houston-based architecture firm unveiled its vision for $36 million in bond projects for the Willis Independent School District.

The renderings showed the proposed $22 million prekindergarten center and $14 million Lynn Lucas Middle School, both of which were designed by the firm, Stantec Inc.

The two projects were part of the $100 million bond package that voters passed in November 2020. The architecture firm anticipates completing documentation by April and starting construction by June. Move in would be July 2022.

“We are excited to provide these facilities to the students of Willis ISD,” Superintendent Tim Harkrider said. “The pre-K center and the Lucas expansion are big wins for our kids, and we are grateful to the Willis community for supporting Bond 2020.”
