Winter storm forces Big 12 to push back UT-OU game

-

In the wake a severe winter storm that blanketed the state in snow and ice, left hundreds of thousands without power and compelled AustinBergstrom International Airport to cancel all incoming and departing flights Monday, the Big 12 announced changes for two of No. 12 Texas’ upcoming games.

The Longhorns will now leave for Norman, Okla., on Tuesday and play No. 9 Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center on Wednesday. That game was previously scheduled for Tuesday, but Texas couldn’t board its flight because of the inclement weather.

And Texas’ game against Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum scheduled for Thursday has been postponed indefinitely. It is the second time Texas has had its trip to Ames, Iowa, canceled, and it’s starting to look like the Longhorns won’t have enough time to reschedule all three of their postponed conference games.

Texas is still set to play No. 13 West Virginia on Saturday, No. 23 Kansas on Feb. 23 and at No. 15 Texas Tech on Feb 27. It will work with the conference to reschedule previously canceled games within a 10-day open window before the Big 12 tournament begins on March 10.
