Accountability vs. anthem

As millions of Texans were in the cold and dark without power during a dangerous freeze that the state government knew of a whole week in advance, yet clearly failed to prepare for, I’m sure that they consoled themselves knowing that Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick

was working hard on the job, seeking to compel Texas NBA teams to play the national anthem. I’m sure that this morning they were all singing, comforted as they shivered, “in the dawn’s early light.”
