Victims ID’d in weather-related fatal incidents
Authorities on Wednesday identified two individuals who died in incidents likely connected to the frigid weather across the Houston region.
An 8-year-old girl who perished with her mother early Tuesday of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning was identified as Rakaeb Zewodu, according to the Harris County medical examiner. Authorities believe the family had their car running in the garage to provide heat after losing power, a police spokesman previously said.
A woman who died in a Sugar Land fire with three of her grandchildren was identified as Loan Le, said city and fire department spokesman Doug Adolph. The cause of the fire had not yet been established but fire officials said the family had been warming themselves with a fireplace.
