Game delayed

- By Jonathan Feigen

Mavs matchup postponed because of weather.

The Rockets’ scheduled game Friday against the Dallas Mavericks was postponed on Thursday “due to government shutdown of Toyota Center because of severe weather conditions in Houston,” the NBA announced Thursday.

A decision about Saturday’s scheduled game against the Indiana Pacers is pending.

The game against the Mavericks will be the Rockets’ second that will need to be rescheduled, likely in the second-half schedule expected to be released in the next two weeks. The Rockets’ season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder was postponed when NBA health and safety protocols left the Rockets without enough players to play.

The Mavericks’ scheduled game on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons was postponed because of the severe weather.

The NBA has postponed 30 games because of health and safety protocols before the two postponed this week because of weatherrelated issues.
