Ex-Astro Giles joining Mariners
The Seattle Mariners finalized a two-year, $7 million contract with former Astros reliever Ken Giles on Friday that includes a club option for the 2023 season.
Giles won’t pitch for the Mariners this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Shoemaker can earn an additional $250,000 in performance bonuses for innings: $50,000 each for 105, 115, 125, 135 and 145.
He will start his ninth major league season, after spending two injury-dominated years with the Toronto Blue Jays.
