Design events are making their way back to the spring calendar, with Access Design setting its 2021 dates for events at the Houston Design Center, Round Top antiques shows starting late March and Texwoods home and garden shows scheduled for dates in March and May.

Access Design’s next event will be March 4 and 5, with interior designers Pamela O’Brien of Pamela Hope Designs, Missy Stewart of Missy Stewart Designs, Fabrice Plantard of Fabrice Plantard Interior Decoration and Anne Breux of Anne Breux Interior Architecture. Future events will be on May 13-14, Oct. 7-8 and Dec. 10-11. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at accessdesignmarch .eventbrite.com.

The March 4 event will be 4-6 p.m. in the James Craig Furnishings showroom at the Houston Design Center, 7026 Old Katy Road. O’Brien will speak on “2020 Visions — Design Lessons Learned” and will talk about advances in materials and new strategies for healthy home design. Stewart will give a before-and-after presentation showing dramatic home remodeling makeovers titled “Yes, your house can look like this, too …”

On March 5, in the Thorntree Slate and Marble showroom, Plantard will speak on “The Art of Custom Design: One goal, three ways to achieve it” and Breux will speak on “2020 From a Positive Point of View: Home!”

After being forced to cancel many of its 2020 events, Texwoods Home and Outdoor Living Shows will bring vendors and speakers together later in Martch to discuss a variety of home remodeling and decorating topics. Tickets are $5 for adults, while children age 12 and younger are free. (Note: I will be one of the speakers at the Lake Houston, Cy-Fair and Montgomery County events, talking about home furnishing trends and shopping for them on a budget.)

The 2021 spring lineup includes:

Lake Houston: March 20-21 at the Humble Civic Center. Highlights include the popular Dr. Lori’s Antiques Appraisal Comedy Show and floral design workshops by Ashley Wallace of The Tallest Tulip.

Cy-Fair: March 27-28 at the Berry Center. Highlights include presentations by certified professional organizer Tammy Atchison and DIY workshops by AR Workshop/ Cypress.

Montgomery County: May 22-23 at the Lone Star Convention Center. Highlights include presentations by KonMari home organization consultant Ashley Barber and Katie Stavinoha, of the Round Top Antiques Show Guide, talking about shopping the semiannual antiques festivals that draw thousands of visitors to Washington County.

Spring antiques shows in Round Top are also on the calendar for late March to early April. The 2020 spring shows were canceled at the last minute because of COVID-19, even as tents were going up and vendors’ goods were on their way to the site.

Fall shows were pushed back by about a month and conducted with masks and requests of social distancing. While attendance seemed less strong than prior years, many vendors still reported strong sales.

Spring 2021 events include the Original Round Top Antiques Fair running March 29-April 3, starting with a half day of VIP shopping for a $20 pass and continuing with $10 general admission.

The Marburger Farm Antique Show starts a day later, running March 30-April 3 and also starting with a half day of early buying with a special $25 ticket. General admission is $10.
