Mattress Mack surprised by aid on ‘Ellen’ show
Ellen DeGeneres surprised Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale with $20,000 for his Winter Storm Community Outreach fund, courtesy of Shutterfly.
McIngvale stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” virtually Wednesday to talk about his work to help Houstonians recover from last week’s winter storm.
The Gallery Furniture owner opened his stores as warming centers to over 700 people and distributed thousands of meals in three days. He shared with DeGeneres the relief efforts to help people still without power and running water. DeGeneres also announces H-E-B is donating $1 million to the Feeding Texas hunger-relief organization.
Sahan Trvidi, 1 ½, and Meagan Ross, his nanny, play Wednesday on a park table in Hermann Park. The two try to make daily visits to the park to play and have fun, Ross said.
