Playing hiatus to continue
COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M’s basketball misery continued Wednesday as their scheduled game at Missouri on Saturday was postponed because of COVID-19 issues within the A&M program.
This marks the eighth consecutive postponement — one was weather-related a week ago — for the Aggies, who haven’t played since Jan. 30, a victory at Kansas State in the annual Big 12/ SEC Challenge. They will not play a game in February.
A&M, 8-7 overall and 2-6 in SEC play under secondyear coach Buzz Williams, is scheduled to close out the regular season at home against Mississippi State on March 3.
The SEC tournament in Nashville, Tenn., is scheduled to start March 10.
The Aggies likely would have the opportunity to make up only one or two of the postponed games, if that, leading to the SEC tournament.
Williams said Saturday the Aggies intend to compete in Nashville and look forward to playing as soon as they can.
