ANSWER: With five-card support, you should raise partner in preference to bidding one no-trump. You seem to have a little too much for a simple raise, though. An aggressive two-spade cue-bid is probably just about acceptable. If you can find spade shortage opposite, the sky may be the limit. You owe your partner the diamond jack, but I am willing to bet you have done worse from time to time.
