City considers stockpile for next big storm
Pearland city officials are considering creating a stockpile of water and nonperishable foods in preparation for the area’s next severe weather event.
City Council discussed the idea at its Feb. 22 meeting, with members saying it’s not a matter of if another storm strikes, but when.
“These events are happening regularly right now, just way too frequently,” council member Trent Perez said.
He proposed a spring workshop ahead of the start of the hurricane season on June 1.
