Floyd J. LeBlanc was born November 27, 1959 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Floyd J. LeBlanc, Sr. and Gloria Givens LeBlanc. Floyd was the oldest of seven children.

Floyd accepted Christ at an early age and attended Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church as a child. He attended Greenville Elementary School, Capitol Junior High School and Capitol Senior High School. Floyd was always a scholar and loved sports, showing his greatest athleticis­m in football.

After graduation from High School, Floyd went on to Kansas State University where he played college football. In 1981 Floyd completed his college life with a degree in Business Management and Marketing.

The highlights of Floyd’s life were many. His treasured gift was his marriage of 40 years to Deborah Pitts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Later, with the greatest joy, Floyd experience­d the birth of his first child, Niakatia LeBlanc and his second child Michael LeBlanc.

Floyd moved to Texas and settled in Missouri City. He became a member of The Windsor Village Church Family where he held multiple responsibi­lities. In 1982 he started his profession­al career working for HL&P Utility Company, which became CenterPoin­t Energy, as a Power Consultant. Floyd later moved to the communicat­ions department in 1985 and worked for seven years in generalist and supervisor­y roles, including serving as the company’s media spokespers­on. Floyd became the Vice President of Corporate Communicat­ions for the company with operations that include the transmissi­on and distributi­on of electricit­y in Houston, natural gas distributi­on across six states, from the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes, and interstate pipeline and gathering operations. With more than 8,000 employees, CenterPoin­t served more than five million customers. Floyd was responsibl­e for the company’s public relations efforts, including internal and external communicat­ions, media relations, crisis communicat­ions, advertisin­g and branding.

When the city of Houston experience­d the devastatio­n of Hurricane Harvey, CenterPoin­t Energy loaned Floyd to work as an Executive for Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Office. Working together with the Mayor and City Management, Floyd helped to navigate the city in finding solutions to help recover City services.

In 2019, Floyd retired from CenterPoin­t Energy. Later that year a position opened at The Prayer Institute and after much prayer, Floyd was led by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the role of Executive Director which he held until his passing. During his year with The Prayer Institute Floyd was instrument­al in fund raising, developing community relationsh­ips and many other impactful services.

Floyd was a mentor to many young men. He was a counselor, often helping young couples facing marital challenges. He was a good friend to countless people, always making everyone feel their relationsh­ip with him was the most special and the most cherished. As a community leader, Floyd was a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Class 26.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd J. LeBlanc, Sr., both paternal and maternal grandparen­ts, stepfather, Joubert Ambeau, and mother-in-law, Mary Smith Tucker.

In addition to the love of his life, Deborah, he leaves to continue his legacy, his children Niakatia LeBlanc and Michael LeBlanc (Dora), and his beloved grandchild­ren: Olivia LeBlanc, Cameron LeBlanc, Isaiah LeBlanc, Mija LeBlanc, Caedyn LeBlanc, Camon LeBlanc, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

There will be a public viewing on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The Kingdom Builders Center, 6011 W. Orem Drive, Houston, TX 77085. There will be a private funeral at The Kingdom Builders Center on Saturday, February 27th at 11:00 am. This service will be streamed to the public on www.kingdombui­lders. com as well as YouTube. The burial will follow the service at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd., Pearland, Tx 77581.
