Faith (our beloved Faithy) Levitt, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 2, 1932 to Isobel and Larry Mentz. Dear sister of the late Stanton Mentz (late Mitzi Mentz). Cherished sister-in-law of Edward (the late Marilyn) Levitt, along with nieces and nephews. Faith graduated from Marshall High School in Chicago, Class of ‘50. It was there she met and married her high school love the late Harold Levitt. They soon married, built a life together and raised their two children, Paul and Debbie. Faith was a role model mother, always protective, supportive and encouragin­g, while remaining warm and loving. She dedicated her life to her children Paul (Stormy) Levitt and Debra (Howard) Stein, and a loving Nana to five grandchild­ren. Devoted grandmothe­r of Ryan and Dustin Levitt, Jake, Madison and Samantha Stein. Faithy was a vibrant, beautiful woman both on the inside and out. She would walk

into every room with an energy brightenin­g smile, lighting every space with enthusiasm, love and kindness. Faith was and will continue to be loved and treasured by her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and zest for life. Faith’s legacy remains her love, loyalty and devotion to her family. Although Faith worked full time, she consistent­ly managed to beautifull­y balance work and family, always leaving time for her family. Upon retirement, Faith volunteere­d at Midwest Hospice (currently JourneyCar­e), as well as, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Skokie, where she forged many close friendship­s with her colleagues. Faith moved to the Houston, Texas area 3 years ago, to be close to her daughter, son in law and grandchild­ren. She will forever be loved and adored by her family and friends. Faithy will be remembered, from generation to generation, L’dor Vador. To keep everyone safe and healthy, the interment service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie, JourneyCar­e Hospice or a charity of your choice.
