Frizzell’s bat powers A&M’s rout of Baylor
Will Frizzell went 3-for-5 with a home run and a walk and also drove in two runs to lead Texas A&M to a 12-4 rout of Baylor in the Round Rock Classic on Friday night at Round Rock.
Langham Creek product Mikey Hoehner also homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Aggies (3-3).
Lefthander Dustin Saenz (1-1) allowed three runs in 5 2⁄3 innings to earn the victory.
Blake Helton (0-2), took the loss for Baylor (1-3), which dropped its third consecutive game. Helton gave up four runs, two earned, in 3 1⁄3 innings as the Bears committed four errors.
In other college baseball action:
• Itchy Burts had a run-scoring single to key a two-run third inning as host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi edged Houston 3-2.
The Cougars (4-1) cut their deficit in half in the sixth thanks to Tyler Bielamowicz (3-for-3) who extended his hit streak and RBI streak to four games in the loss. The left fielder drove a single into left, scoring Steven Rivas.
