Relative is held in family’s deaths

A man was detained Tuesday in connection with the shooting deaths of his grandmother and younger brother at a south Houston residence, police said.

Officers responded around 11 a.m. to Cayman Mist Drive where they found the two victims, police said.

The suspect’s family members located and confronted him in a retail parking lot nearby on Edgebrook Drive, police said. Police arrived and detained the suspect, whose identity has not been released.
