Abbott’s new order

-

• Masks: A statewide mask mandate is lifted. Businesses can continue to require face coverings for employees and customers. School districts also appear able to require masks, though the Texas Education Agency said it will provide updated guidance later this week.

• Capacity limits: Beginning next Wednesday, businesses are allowed to open at full capacity, including restaurants and bars.

• Local rules: Local officials can impose limited restrictions if coronavirus hospitalizations rise above 15 percent of total hospitalizations in their region. Penalties for not wearing masks are prohibited, and businesses must be allowed to remain open at least at half capacity.

• Keep your distance: Face masks, social distancing and other health and safety measures to slow the spread of infections are still recommended.
