Martin Baxter Keough, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 15, 2021 surrounded by the loved ones of his immediate family.

A multi-generation native of Houston, he was born on February 15, 1927 and grew up in the Heights area. He was a 1944 graduate of John H. Reagan High School and served as a corpsman in the United States Navy during the closing months of the second world war. Following his service to country, he earned a degree in mechanical engineerin­g from Texas A&M University.

His early profession­al career included experience in the oil and manufactur­ing industries. He subsequent­ly moved into the aerospace industry in the early days of the US manned space program and spent over 30 years with the Boeing Co. and NASA before retiring in 1995.

He was a dedicated family man and is survived by his wife of 55 years Loretta, sons Scott, Patrick and Ryan (wife Renee) as well as his grandchild­ren Case and Kylie, niece Lucy (Havemann) and nephew Luke (Havemann). He was preceded in death by sons David and Kyle.

Funeral services will be held on March 27 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home located at 6900 Lawndale Avenue in Houston. Arrangemen­ts will include visitation and viewing in the Chapel of the Angels from 11:00AM to 12:15PM followed by a recitation of the rosary led by the Knights of Columbus and a eulogy. A funeral service will be held from 1:00PM to 2:00 PM followed by a graveside internment.
