LOIS M. GOODMAN

-

1929-2021

Our beloved mother has passed. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, our beautiful, kind, and gracious mother was a Houston resident for 65 years. She was preceded in death by our father, Robert, her parents, Louise and Lawrence Mueller, her brothers, Jim and Tom, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lois will be forever mourned by her children – Kathy Goodman, Lisa Goodman, Lynne Goodman Goddard and Roger Goddard, Beth Goodman and Kimberly Morisak. She will be dearly missed by her most beloved grandchildren, Will and Grace Goddard. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, whom she considered her sisters, Ann Byrne Mueller and Carol Mueller, and a multitude of nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom she loved dearly, her James Avery family with whom she worked for 25 years, her many special friends at Holly Hall Retirement Community, and her palliative care nurse, Jana Arcidiacono who gently guided our mother and all of us through her final journey with great compassion and love.

Our mother was a monumental presence in our lives and will remain so. She was our North Star - charming and beautiful; funny and strong; exceedingly kind, thoughtful and generous. Her favorite role was grandma. She will remain the voice in our heads and in our hearts forever, urging us to love and care for each other.

Her family will gather for a private rosary on March 26th, in the chapel of St. Anne’s Catholic Community. A private memorial service will follow on March 27th at Forest Park Westheimer. Honorary pallbearers are her “boys”- Roger and Will Goddard, her nephews, Paul, Mike, Matt, Tim, Tom and Jim Mueller, and her bonus son, Jim Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor her beautiful life by making a donation in her name to Houston Habitat for Humanity at their website; a tribute to Lois may also be mailed to Houston Habitat, 3760 N. McCarty, Houston, Texas 77029.
