Tina Turner doc leads the list of what our critics recommend.

1. ‘Tina’

Tina Turner, the 81-year-old singer who overcame an abusive relationship in the ’60s and ’70s to enjoy a career rebirth in the ’80s, is the subject of this HBO documentary that is being met by hosannas by those who have seen it. Directors Daniel Lindsay and T.J. Martin made the similarly lauded documentary “LA 92,” about the unrest in Los Angeles in the wake of the trial of the policemen who assaulted Rodney King, in 2017.

2. Afrofuturism: Blackness Revisualized

This online film festival highlights a movement that wouldn’t have been recognized not many years ago: Black science-fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction. Now, with the success of “Lovecraft Country” and “Get Out,” things have changed. These 10 movies, including “The Abandon” starring Sterling K. Brown in a story about four guys who find the entire world changes while they’re out hiking, come from the U.S., Brazil and elsewhere. They showcase a range of styles, stories and directors we may be hearing more from soon. Best of all, it’s free.

When: All films begin streaming at 9 p.m. March 26

4. Samantha Fish

Samantha Fish gets filed under blues for the wicked way she works a guitar. While the Missouri native is fluent in the blues, her recordings and performances draw from all manner of roots music sources, including country and bluegrass, funk and rock. She’s out touring her latest album, “Kill or Be Kind,” and likely will hit the stage like a twister.

Details: 8:45 p.m. March 28

Details: The Heights Theater, 339 W. 19th
