Lowrie powers Athletics’ rally

PHOENIX — Jed Lowrie hit a tying, three-run homer in the seventh inning, Seth Brown had a solo shot in the next frame and the Oakland Athletics rallied from a five-run deficit to beat the Arizona Diamondbac­ks 7-5 on Tuesday.

Oakland has won five of six since starting the season 0-6.

RANGERS 8, RAYS 3: Nick Solak and Charlie Culberson drove in three runs apiece, Kyle Gibson pitched seven strong innings and visiting Texas beat Tampa Bay to end a season-high four-game losing streak.

RED SOX 4, TWINS 2: Rafael Devers homered for the fourth straight game, and streaking Boston beat host Minnesota on a snowy afternoon in a series opener moved back following the fatal police shooting of Daunte Wright, a Black man, in a nearby suburb.

The Twins held a moment of silence for Wright before Tuesday’s game.

BLUE JAYS 7, YANKEES 3: Hyun Jin Ryu cruised into the seventh inning, Marcus Semien and Rowdy Tellez homered, and host Toronto beat New York in Dunedin, Fla.

MARLINS 14, BRAVES 8: Adam Duvall drove in seven runs against his former Atlanta teammates with four hits, including two home runs, and visiting Miami beat Max Fried and the Braves.

PIRATES 8, PADRES 4: Jacob Stallings had three hits and three RBIs, and host Pittsburgh chased Blake Snell in the first inning of a victory over San Diego.

CUBS 3, BREWERS 2: Willson Contreras struck back after getting hit by a pitch again by the Milwaukee, hitting a two-run homer in the eighth as visiting Chicago rallied past Milwaukee.

INDIANS 2, WHITE SOX 0 (10): After nine scoreless innings, Roberto Perez hit an RBI single and Amed Rosario drove in another run with a double as visiting Cleveland beat Chicago.

CARDINALS 14, NATIONALS 3: Four St. Louis players finished with three RBIs as the Cardinals scored nine runs in the fifth to rout visiting Washington.

ROYALS 3, ANGELS 2: Shohei Ohtani hit his fourth homer of the year, but a pair of RBIs by Carlos Santana helped hold off Los Angeles.

MARINERS 4-6, ORIOLES 3-7: Kyle Seager hit an RBI double in the eighth and visiting Seattle beat Baltimore in eight innings in the first game of a doublehead­er. Ramon Urias hit a walk-off single to give the Orioles a win in Game 2.

METS 4-4, PHILLIES 3-0: Didi Gregorius singled to drive in Andrew McCutchen in the top of the eighth, but host New York responded with RBI singles by Pete Alonso and Jonathan Villar to beat Philadelph­ia in eight innings in the first game of a doublehead­er. Brandon Nimmo’s two-run single led a three-run fourth as the Mets shut out the Phillies in Game 2.
