Second man killed in driverless car crash identified

The second man who died in an apparent driverless Tesla crash in The Woodlands has been identified.

Everette Talbot, 69, died in the crash on Saturday, according to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Dr. William Varner of the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center was also killed in the crash, according to the hospital and the medical examiner.

The two were traveling in a 2019 Model S Tesla around 9 p.m. in the Carlton Woods Creekside gated community when the vehicle crashed into a tree at a high rate of speed, police said.
