ST. LOUIS — Jack Flaherty hit his first career home run and became the major leagues’ first six-game winner, leading the St. Louis Cardinals over Colorado 5-0 on Friday night in Nolan Arenado’s first game against the Rockies.

Arenado, a five-time All-Star and eight-time Gold Glove winner during with seasons in Colorado, was traded to the Cardinals on Feb. 1 for five players, including pitcher Austin Gomber. Arenado went 2 for 4, doubling off Gomber (2-4) in the second, then struck out and grounded out. Arenado added a single against Lucas Gilbreath in the eighth.

Flaherty (6-0) gave up three hits in seven innings, struck out six and walked one, retiring his final 13 batters. He lowered his ERA to 2.83.

NATIONALS 11, YANKEES 4: Washington burst ahead in a six-run eighth inning that included three errors and Josh Harrison’s three-run homer, and the Nationals won at New York to stop a three-game skid.

MARINERS 5, RANGERS 4: Mitch Haniger had a tiebreaking RBI single in the seventh inning and Seattle bounced back from being no-hit in their last game with a win at Texas. Dylan Moore and J.P. Crawford both hit tying two-run homers for the Mariners, who two days earlier at home were held without a hit when Baltimore’s John Means faced the minimum 27 batters. Nate Lowe homered for the Rangers, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.

MARLINS 6, BREWERS 1: Isan Diaz hit his first career grand slam and host Miami beat reeling Milwaukee. Miguel Rojas had two hits and scored three times for the Marlins, who have won four straight. Milwaukee lost its sixth straight and fell to 0-5 on its seven-game road trip. Trevor Rogers (4-2) gave up one run and four hits in five innings. The lefthander struck out six and walked two.

PHILLIES 12, BRAVES 2: Odubel Herrera hit a threerun homer in Philadelphia’s six-run first inning and the streaking Phillies beat Charlie Morton and Atlanta at Atlanta. Boosted by the return of Jean Segura and Bryce Harper from injuries, the Phillies set a season high with 16 hits. J.T. Realmuto had three hits, including a two-run homer, and Segura drove in two runs with four hits. The Phillies stretched their winning streak to five games.

CUBS 3, PIRATES 2: Zach Davies (2-2) allowed five hits in seven scoreless innings, and Rex Brothers retired Bryan Reynolds on a bases-loaded fly for his first save since Sept. 29, 2013 in host Chicago’s win. Joc Pederson had three hits for Chicago, which has won four straight.

METS 5, DIAMONDBACKS 4 (10): Francisco Lindor hit a tying, two-run homer in the seventh inning after an apparently heated exchange with teammate Jeff McNeil in the dugout tunnel, and host New York Mets rallied to beat Arizona. New York walked off with a victory when designated runner Pete Alonso scored on pinch-hitter Patrick Mazeika’s fielder’s choice.

WHITE SOX 3, ROYALS 0: Carlos Rodon struck out eight in six innings, Zack Collins homered and Chicago won at Kansas City. The Royals were blanked for the second straight game in part of a six-game losing streak. Rodon (5-0) limited the Royals to five hits.
