Sharla Faye Broussard Miller, 74, passed away on September 14th, 2021 peacefully at her home in Houston Texas, surrounded by her husband and four children. Sharla was born March 15th, 1947 to Harvey and Dorothy Broussard in Jennings, Louisiana. She married Artie Miller on January 3rd, 1964 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage together. Sharla enjoyed being a wife to her husband, a mother to her children, and a Memaw to her 9 grand and 3 great grandchild­ren, and her reach extended to all the “grand” friends who called her Memaw as well. Sharla was a fixture in the stands at any volleyball match in the state of Texas and was well known by several generation­s of both players and coaches. She was especially fond of the lucky few to wear the number 7 on their jersey, as her daughters and granddaugh­ters all wore that number during their many seasons of competitio­n over the years.

Sharla is survived by her husband, Artie Miller; her daughters: Angie Sparks and husband Steve; Shawn Shackelfor­d and husband Jason; her sons: Kendall and wife Kathleen; Kevin and wife Nicole; her grandchild­ren: Jacqueline Hodges and husband Mark; Wayne Sparks; Kaitlyn and Kristen Miller; Stuart Flowers and wife Taylor; Kassidy and Skyler Shackelfor­d; Madelyn and Kyan Miller; her great grandchild­ren: Beaux and Haddie Hodges; Rylan Flowers.

There will be a family visitation beginning at 3 with a memorial service beginning at 4 on Saturday, September 18th at San Jacinto Funeral Home, 14659 East Fwy, Houston 77015 and a family visitation at 1 with a Memorial Mass beginning at 2 on Monday, September 20th at Our Lady Help of Christians in Jennings, Louisiana.
