DUI suspected in crash that killed one, injured two

A crash Sunday morning in Westbury left one person dead and at least two more injured.

A vehicle on Chimney Rock ran a red light about 3 a.m. and crashed into another vehicle at Gasmer Drive, Houston Police Sgt. Jesus Uribe said. A woman in the first vehicle died at the scene, Uribe said. Two people in the other vehicle were hospitalized but expected to survive.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is investigating whether the driver who ran the red light was under the influence, Uribe said.
