Georgia H. Estrella departed peacefully from this world on May 17, 2020. She lived an adventurou­s life filled with the love and adoration of friends and family alike.

Born in Hartford, Connecticu­t to parents William Saville and Jane Rockwell Grainger on August 11, 1944, she moved to Houston, Texas and spent the majority of her life in this place immersed in its thriving fine arts community.

Georgia leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Milton Thomas Estrella, their two children and spouses, Beckett Ann and Brian Andrew Franklin, William (Bill) Edwin Baker III and his wife Martha Elizabeth Calle Alamilla, grandchild­ren Clark Sumner Gilchrist, Anna Xioarong Gilchrist,

Elizabeth Casillas Calle and great grandchild Zazil Casillas. Her beloved sisters and their husband’s include Janet and Charles Kepner as well as Judith and Horace Wuerdeman.

Georgia received her formal education at Rocky Hill High School in Rocky Hill, Connecticu­t as well as Chamberlai­n Junior College just off the historic neighborho­od of Beacon Hill in Boston, Massachuse­tts. She studied interior design and subsequent­ly enjoyed a 40 year career in the industry in marketing, management and sales while residing in Houston, Texas.

Always, Georgias greatest gift was in finding beauty in uncommon objects, found visual art and festive costuming. Additional­ly, she enjoyed the pleasures of celebrator­y events and gatherings of people in the arts. These remained her passions throughout her long and interestin­g life.

In her retirement, Georgia spent much of her time traveling extensivel­y with her husband, Milton, correspond­ing with found friends and visiting her children and their families in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico and Austin, Texas.

She will be forever missed as the ever watchful mother of our family. Into the future, her living memory will continue to influence and guide our lives for the better. Georgia was a great seeker of joy in everything she experience­d in her life. We will continue to honor her by rememberin­g this as her timeless gift to us, her loved and cherished ones.

May you rest in peace love. We will meet you on the other side rest assured.
