Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 14, 1930, to Grace and Harrold McConachie, Nancy brought joy to all who knew her. With her gentle, loving spirit, she rejoiced in the successes of friends and family members but was also there for them in time of need with a helping hand, dependable faith, and quiet strength. She had a big heart and was generous with her love and time. Her great warmth and personalit­y attracted many loyal friends and a family who adored her.

Nancy graduated from Withrow Senior High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1952 and was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Nancy lived in Houston, Texas, from 1969 until her passing. Before living in Houston, she lived in Beaumont, Texas, from 1962 to 1969, and in Cincinnati, Ohio, for more than 30 years prior.

She worked as a realtor with Gary Greene Realty for more than 20 years and was a special education schoolteac­her with the Spring Branch Independen­t School District for over ten years. Nancy’s commitment to her students and her love of teaching touched many lives, and she was always so proud to learn of her former students’ achievemen­ts. She was a Memorial Drive United Methodist Church member, an avid tournament bridge player, enjoyed fishing, bowling, loved baking brownies for friends and family, and would adopt any cat needing care and shelter.

She will be remembered for her devotion and love for her daughter, Sherry McConn, sons Tom McCoy, and wife Anne, Jim McCoy, and wife Kim. She loved and adored her grandchild­ren Tim McConn, and wife Julie, Meghan Papasan, Brian McConn, and wife Sarah, Mike McCoy, and wife Sheryl, Chris McCoy, Patrick McCoy, and wife Kara, Mark McCoy, Ashley McCoy Kingman, and husband Trent, Allison McCoy Laughlin, and husband Corey, Thomas McCoy, and fiancé Shannon Hansen, and ten great-grandchild­ren.

On March 1, 2022, Nancy passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. On Monday, March 7, 2022, there will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the chapel at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. The family will have a private service in Coultervil­le, Illinois, where she will be laid to eternal rest with her mother and father.
