WILLIAM “BILL” HAROLD JACOB

1939-2022

William Harold Jacob passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2022, after a long-fought battle with cancer, just one day shy of his 83rd birthday.

On April 29, 1939, Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois to Helen and Harold Jacob. He attended Carl Schurz High School and later Illinois College in Jacksonvil­le, Illinois. In college, he was a member of Sigma Pi, the Literary Society, and he graduated with a business degree.

Directly after college, he joined the US Army where he spent his tour of duty in Germany as a Morse Code intercepto­r.

He spent his business career as a plant manager for several commercial linen businesses. Later, he became the Owner/Operator of Dandy Diaper Service, a cotton diaper delivery company in Houston and the Metro Area.

Bill was a loving, good natured and kind husband, father and grandfathe­r. And a great American Patriot. Also, as a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, he attended a live game at least once a year. He loved gardening, from which he acquired the nickname “Daddy Nature”.

Survivors include his adoring wife of 10+ years Ann; daughters Diana Marvar (Don), Jennifer A. Jacob and Sally Jacob (Michael Goings, Jr.); grandchild­ren Jacob and Chloe Goings; Sister Judyann Terrault and brother Robert (Janet); and his stepchildr­en Kris Bodner and Denis Coyne.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday, May 5th with visitation beginning at 1PM with a funeral service to follow at 2PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Chaplain Charlie Flanagan presiding, with burial to follow.
