ROBERT ALEXANDER ROBINSON
July 4, 1932 - July 15, 2022
Robert “Bob” Alexander Robinson was born July 4, 1932 to Victor Joseph and Annie Allene Robinson. He passed away on July 15, 2022. Bob was born and raised in Osborn, Mississippi. He was the youngest of 4 siblings. Bob was a “preemie”, weighing only 2 ½ lbs at birth. Remarkably, with no medical intervention at the time but with the loving care of sisters and aunts, he thrived and led a long and successful life. Bob served in the Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1955 with a degree in accounting. He married the love of his life former Baja Ann Lee of West Point, Mississippi on November 22, 1955. The couple moved to Houston, Texas where Bob began his career with Arthur Anderson and attained his CPA. Bob entered the oil and gas business when he accepted a position with Kimball Production Company in 1964. He then attended night school at the University of Houston School of Law, obtaining his law degree in 1970. He successfully led Kimball through several industry transitions and retired as its president in 1996.
Bob and Baja started their family in 1957 that consisted of two boys and a girl. Bob and Baja raised their three children in Braeburn Valley, just one block from Braeburn Country Club where Bob was a member for 40 years. He enjoyed playing in a regular foursome and developed lifelong friendships. Golf was central to Bob’s life where he could get away from the stress of daily living. Bob and Baja enjoyed entertaining friends, traveling, and, especially, spending summers in Breckenridge, Colorado. Bob was an avid Mississippi State Bulldog, Houston Oiler and Houston Astros baseball fan. Along the way, Bob and Baja developed deep and lasting friendships that continue to this day.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Allie McIlwain and Frances Echols; brother VJ Robinson; and his wife of 57 years, Baja Ann Lee Robinson.
He is survived by his sisters-in-law Karen Lee and Erin Lee; son, Steve Robinson and wife Jodie of College Station, TX (adult children Sam (wife Sarah), Laura and Tom (partner Stuart); great grandchildren Reese, Max and Katherine); son Robbie Robinson and wife Terri of Dripping Springs, TX (adult children Caitlin, Cole (wife Meagan), Chris (wife Lauren), Rachel and Riley; great-grandchildren Cash, Conley and Violet); daughter Kelly Robinson Prewitt and husband John of Cypress, TX (adult children Elizabeth (husband Steve), Melissa and Ben).
A Celebration of Life will be held October 15th at the family cabin, The Place (details to be shared later).
Bob and Baja were blessed by so many wonderful people during their lives. The family wishes to thank Jessica West who cared so well for Bob in his final years, along with many other individuals and Hospice Brazos Valley. We are eternally grateful.
