Musical Matinee

TCM, 11 a.m. ■ New Series

Turner Classic Movies launches its new Musical Matinee franchise today. Each Saturday at this time, TCM host Dave Karger will introduce a beloved movie musical. “I have a song in my head from the moment I wake up until I go to bed at night,” Karger says. “Movies and music are my two passions, and they have always been intertwine­d to me. If we can give everyone a dose of music to start off their weekend, that’s a good thing.” Kicking off Musical Matinee today is An American in Paris (1951), the Best Picture Oscar winner starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron.

Christmas in the Pines

UPtv, 6 p.m. ■ Original Film

UPtv’s Merry Movie Christmas Weekend continues with this premiere film in which an up-and-coming magazine writer and a successful architect battle over ownership of an idyllic Christmas cottage. But they soon discover that their cozy holiday getaway may not be the only thing they love. Stars Jillian Murray and Dean Geyer.

College Football: Clemson at Notre Dame NBC, 6:30 p.m. Live

Two legendary college football programs square off at Notre Dame Stadium as the Clemson Tigers visit the Fighting Irish in prime time on NBC.

A Royal Christmas on Ice Great American Family, 7 p.m. ■ Original Film

Looking to escape his royal life, a dashing prince (Jonathan Stoddard) comes to the United States to start a business in a small town in upstate New York and winds up falling for a former Olympic ice skater (Anna Marie Dobbins).

Lights, Camera, Christmas!

Hallmark Channel, 7 p.m. ■ Original Film

When local boutique owner Kerry (Kimberley Sustad) subs in as costume designer for a holiday movie shooting in her town, she doesn’t just open her mind to a new career — she opens her heart to the film’s A-list leading man (Fuller House’s John Brotherton).

Merry Swissmas

Lifetime, 7 p.m. ■ Original Film

Jodie Sweetin stars in this heartwarmi­ng holiday movie as Alex, a Chicago architect who travels to Switzerlan­d to spend the holidays with family and friends at her mother’s new inn. While there, Alex gets introduced to Swiss Christmas customs, learns to let go of old grudges and meets a handsome single dad (Tim Rozon).

Help! I Wrecked My House HGTV, 8 p.m.

Once Cori and Paul’s nest became empty, their feathers ruffled when they saw how the past 27 years weathered their house. Their four boys may have flown the coop, but the place is busier than ever when they bring their spouses and grandchild­ren home to visit. Jasmine Roth will take their sizable $110,000 budget and use it to fix years of wear and tear, updating their midcentury modern classic with a timeless, Spanish/ Moroccan flare.
