On Sunday, February 12, 2023, Tammy Michelle Woodfill, age 52 of The Woodlands, Texas, ran her race and graduated to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tammy was born on September 9, 1970, in Victoria, Texas to Tex and Glenda Inman. Tammy graduated from Baytown Lee High School and went on to receive a degree in education from Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, Tammy taught in the Goose Creek and Clear Creek Independent School Districts. In 1994, upon Matt graduating from Abundant Life School of Ministry with a degree in Biblical Studies Tammy met and married the love of her life, Matt Woodfill of Houston, Texas. Consequently, the Lord had answered both of their prayers for a Godly mate and Matt and Tammy married 8 months later on November 18, 1995. Tammy and Matt were called to leave their professions as a teacher and mechanical engineer and began serving as ordained ministers at Abundant Life Christian Center in LaMarque, Texas under the leadership of Pastors Walter and Cindy Hallam.

On February 14, 2001, Pastors Tammy and Matt received the blessing of their pastors and took a huge step of faith and started The Way Church in The Woodlands, Texas. Matt and Tammy felt a strong call to The Woodlands, Texas. This was soon confirmed as they were reading Isaiah 43:19, which says, “He will make THE WAY in the wilderness.” The direction could not have been any clearer and to The Woodlands they came. With limited resources and no members but mega faith, the young pastors stepped out and moved, knowing that God had great plans for them. A local apartment complex allowed them to use their clubhouse to hold the first services of The Way Church. The services quickly outgrew the clubhouse, and a larger facility was needed. Wilkerson Intermediate became The Way Church’s second home. The next few years brought growth and the addition of staff members. By 2008, the church was expanding and needed a facility of its own. The unmistakable hand of God was once again seen. Seven and one-half acres of frontage property on Interstate 45 at the gateway to The Woodlands, Texas was purchased and over the next two years the phase one worship center was designed and built. From the very beginning, Tammy led many people to Christ and trusted God to take The Way Church only where He wanted it to go.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Pastor Matt Woodfill, and her three children, Matthew Beck Woodfill Jr., GraceAnn Woodfill, Caroline Faith Woodfill, her father and mother, Tex and Glenda Inman of The Woodlands, Texas, and her sister and brother-in-law Wendy and Rick Brazelton and her nephews Mark Andrew Griffin of Fort Worth, Texas and Mason Griffin of Austin, Texas.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted by Pastor Rod Aguillard, at noon on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at The Way Church, 24418, Interstate 45 North, The Woodlands, Texas 77386. A graveside service for Tammy will also be held following the service at Forest Park Cemetery in The Woodlands, Texas at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.

Condolences can be sent to www.metcalffuneraldirectors. com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Pastor Tammy Woodfill to The Way Church via http://www. waychurch.org/give. The family grieves the separation, but because of their faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, they rejoice in the promise of everlasting life knowing Tammy is more ALIVE today than she has ever been!
