GUILLAUME JACQUES-HENRI PATRICK GOODRICH

-

01/16/1995 - 02/16/2023

Guillaume Goodrich,

28, of Houston, Texas died Thursday, February 16, 2023. He was born in 1995 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Gil and Frederique Goodrich. He graduated from St. Pius X High School and proudly attended Louisiana State University, his family legacy. Guillaume was an aspiring entrepreneur in the field of energy markets and finance. His lifelong goal was to follow in the footsteps of his father and his grandfather, Henry Goodrich, who he affectionately called “Biggie.”

Guillaume was unique from the day he was born. He will be remembered for his magnetic smile, the sparkle in his eye, and an unmistakable joie de vivre. He was naturally gifted, with a flair for the good life. A lover of fine wine, cigars, and cuisine, he was a true gourmand for the better things in life. His presentation was one of sartorial splendor, always impeccable, and he so enjoyed the process of creating it. Guillaume made people smile and his laugh was so infectious that he often made others laugh simply because he was laughing. He had a natural charm and was good company for the young and old. His big heart and deep well of kindness made him especially good with children, who enjoyed the attention he readily gave. With older generations, he could converse in a wide variety of subjects well beyond his years, including politics (French and U.S.), world news, the oil and gas business, and the stock market. He enjoyed a long list of passions and particularly loved watching the top tennis players in the world and European football (soccer) matches with his family.

Guillaume enjoyed a lifelong relationship with France, the birthplace of his mother and home of his beloved extended French family, and was a citizen of France, as well as the U.S. He spent his summers there in his youth, spoke beautiful French and fully embraced the French culture. He loved dining in French restaurants in France, particularly Chez Mioque in Deauville. It was his second home and a deeply engrained part of who he was.

Of his many qualities, perhaps his greatest was his deep love for his family. The thing he most enjoyed in life was spending time traveling and talking with his parents and his brother. His family was his first and foremost passion, always. During his life, Guillaume fought numerous mental and emotional challenges. He would want you to know that he fought hard, valiantly and along with the aid and support of his loving family. He is now in the arms of his Lord and Savior and finally at peace.

Guillaume is survived by his parents, Frederique and Gil Goodrich and his brother, Olivier; his grandmother, Georgia Hamon-Bartolucci of Rouen, France; his parrain (godfather), Patrick Bartolucci of Rouen France; his marraine (godmother), Veronique Jaussaud of Luc sur Mer, France; his “American grandmother”, Jan Lea; and her daughter, Britt and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins both in the U.S. and France.

There will be a service celebrating Guillaume’s life on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 900 Jordan St., Shreveport, Louisiana with a private family burial immediately thereafter. Officiating the service will be Reverend Dr. Will Scott. He will be buried next to his grandparents, Biggie and Honey.
