Carl Guilford Miller was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 30, 1943 and went to the Lord from his beloved Texas on February 14, 2023. He spent his formative years traveling as an Army brat all over the U.S. and he spent 3 years in Taiwan. In 1962, he enlisted in the Army, following in his father’s footsteps. He trained as a medical technician in San Antonio, Texas where he met his soulmate, Anita Patasso and married in December, 1965 and promptly took her to Frankfort, Germany.

On Carl’s discharge, they put roots down in Houston where Carl worked as a med tech for many years and went to college and started the first privately run veterinary laboratory. Eventually Carl sold the lab and began a new career as a consultant to the pharmaceut­ical industry.

Carl G. Miller III and Louis M. Miller arrived on December 16, 1972 and were Carl’s greatest accomplish­ment. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

Carl is now with his parents, Robert and Esther Miller; in-laws, Louis and Carmen Patasso; and his sister, Tamara Stout. He is survived by his wife, Anita Miller; sons, Carl G. Miller III and Louis M. Miller; brother, Robert Miller (Nancy); brother-in-law, Robert Stout; sisters in law, Brenda Palmer, Grace Minus, Jeanette Cota (Jesse) and Judy Patasso; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Chapel, 7723 Beechnut, Houston, TX 77074. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church, 11027 S. Gessner, Houston, TX 77071.
