UCLA outlasts Colorado; Maryland keeps rolling

BOULDER, Colo. — Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 17 points and Tyger Campbell had 13 of his 14 points in the second half as No. 4 UCLA hung on to beat Colorado 60-56 on Sunday.

Amari Bailey added 11 points for UCLA (25-4, 16-2 Pac-12). KJ Simpson had 14 points to lead Colorado (15-15, 7-12).

Jaquez made one of two free throws with 2:17 left to put UCLA on top by a point and Campbell added another basket for the Bruins. The Buffaloes got back within two points on a pair of free throws by Lawson Lovering with seven seconds remaining. Amari Bailey was fouled on the subsequent inbounds play and he made both free throws to secure the victory over Colorado, which did not get a shot off in the final seconds.

NO. 21 NORTHWESTE­RN 59

Jahmir Young scored 18 points and Don Carey added 13 to help the Terrapins wrap up an undefeated home season in Big Ten play with a victory over the Wildcats.

Maryland (20-9, 11-7) finished 16-1 overall at home in turning back Northweste­rn (20-9, 11-7). Maryland’s win also clinched at least a share of the Big Ten title for No. 5 Purdue.

Ed Croswell scored a career-high 25 points and the Friars easily dispatched the last-place Hoyas.

Providence (21-8, 13-5) got 18 points from Jared Bynum. Primo Spears had 26 points to lead Georgetown (7-23, 2-17).

Aliyah Boston had 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Zia Cooke added 12 points as the Gamecocks completed a perfect Southeaste­rn Conference season with a victory at home.

South Carolina (29-0, 16-0) won its 35th straight and their seventh SEC title.

Caitlin Clark’s buzzerbeat­ing 3-pointer lifted the Hawkeyes to a win at Iowa City.

Clark, who scored 34 points and added nine rebounds and nine assists, took the inbound pass from Kate Martin with 1.5 seconds left and took an off-balance shot from the right side that rolled in as the horn sounded.

Angel Reese had 26 points and 23 rebounds as the Tigers cruised at home for their fourth straight win.

Alexis Morris added 23 points for LSU.

NO. 9 VIRGINIA TECH 65, GEORGIA TECH 52

Elizabeth Kitley scored a season-high 29 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Hokies to a win at Atlanta.

Kayana Traylor added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Virginia Tech (24-4, 14-4 ACC).

Sonia Citron scored 27 points as the visiting Fighting Irish clinched the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title.

Notre Dame (24-4, 15-3 ACC) rallied from a 33-24 halftime deficit.

NO. 22 NORTH CAROLINA 45 NO. 11 DUKE 41

Three players scored nine points and the Tar Heels went 9 of 9 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to deny the Blue Devils a share of the ACC championsh­ip.

North Carolina (20-9, 11-7) only scored eight points in each of the first two quarters.
