Davis falls just short of Pistol Pete’s scoring record
Antoine Davis outscored them all — except for “Pistol” Pete.
The Houston native finished three points shy of Pete Maravich’s NCAA career scoring record, totaling 22 in Detroit Mercy’s gritty 71-66 loss to Youngstown State in the Horizon League tournament Thursday night.
He still might have a chance to break the mark if Detroit Mercy (14-19) plays in a tournament such as the CBI.
