Daisy Jones & the Six

Prime Video ■ New Series

Based on the bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, this 10-episode musical drama details the rise and fall of a fictional renowned ’70s rock band fronted by charismatic singers Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) and Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) decades after they call it quits at the height of their fame. The series features 24 original songs written exclusively for the series and recorded by the cast; the original music will be released by Atlantic Records during the rollout of the series. Along with Keough and Claflin, the drama stars Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne and Timothy Olyphant in a special guest appearance as Rod Reyes. Three episodes are available today and March 10, with two episodes dropping on both March 17 and 24.

Friday Double Features FMC, 7 p.m.

Family Movie Classics well lives up to its name with another in its weekly twofers of Hollywood’s most glittery Golden Age actors, actresses and directors. Tonight: stalwart Gregory Peck. First up for the baritone-voiced star is the prescient 1963 wartime dramedy Captain Newman, M.D., with Peck as an Army Medical Corps officer empathetically treating World War II soldiers suffering what we now call post-traumatic stress disorder. Tony Curtis and Angie Dickinson co-star, and notably, while singer Bobby Darin made only 13 films, he was Oscar-nominated for this one. Peck then sets sail for The World in His Arms. In the 1952 adventure, he vies for the affection of Russian Countess Ann Blyth and takes on rival pirate Anthony Quinn in a sea race that thrills as much today as it did 70-plus years ago.

Grand Crew

NBC, 7:30 p.m. ■ Season Premiere

The critically acclaimed hangout comedy returns for a second season. Friends Noah (Echo Kellum), Nicky (Nicole Byer), Sherm (Carl Tart), Anthony (Aaron Jennings), Wyatt (Justin Cunningham) and Fay (Grasie Mercedes) continue navigating the ups and downs of life and love while finding the humor in it all, always leaning on one another along the way and unpacking everything at their favorite wine bar. In the season premiere, “Wine & Traffic,” Noah responds to Simone’s (Ashleigh Morghan) marriage proposal, which leads the fellas to go on an adventure, while Nicky deals with tension between her and her secret boyfriend. And, of course, there’s wine.
