Zags overpower Gaels to win title

LAS VEGAS — Drew Timme scored 18 points and became Gonzaga's all-time leading scorer to lead the No. 9 Bulldogs past No. 16 Saint Mary's 77-51 on Tuesday night in the West Coast Conference Tournament championship game.

The Zags (28-5) continued their domination of the WCC with their fourth consecutive tournament championship and 10th in 11 years, with Saint Mary's in 2019 being the only exception.

Ziggy Reid scored 23 points, and the Warriors closed on an 8-0 run to beat the Knights in North Andover, Md., to capture the Northeast Conference Tournament title.

Merrimack (18-16), is ineligible for the NCAA Tournament due to a four-year transition to Division I.

Ryan Larson scored 23 points to help lift the Cougars past the upsetSeahawks in Washington to win the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament championship and clinch an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Max Abmas scored 26 points and distributed 11 assists and the Golden Eagles overwhelmed the Bison in Sioux Falls, S.D., to win the Summit League Tournament title.

TEXAS A&M-CC 80 MCNEESE 63

De'Lazarus Keys had 18 points and the Islanders beat the Cowboy in Lake Charles, La., to reach the Southland Conference Tournament final.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will play Northwestern State, which beat New Orleans 74-70, in the championship game on Wednesday.
