Here’s a heads-up on weekend traffic, detour
More warm and humid temperatures are expected to continue into the weekend, bust some traffic closures could detour Houstonians from their weekend plans.

IH-10 Katy (Hotspot)
The westbound connector ramp to 610 West Loop will be closed Saturday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Traffic will continue on 610 North Loop east.
Drivers must use exit 14 toward Ella Boulevard and make a U-turn at Ella Boulevard. They then have to continue on 610 North Loop west entrance ramp and follow signs to US-290.
IH-45 Gulf (Hotspot)
Two outside lanes will be closed on IH-45 at Gulf headed northbound from Griggs Road to Telephone Road.
The lanes will be closed continuously through 5 a.m. Monday.
FM-251 Almeda (Hotspot) Two northbound lanes from Holmes Road to I-610 South Loop are closed through 5 a.m. Monday, March 27.
Wayside Drive (Hotspot)
Traffic on Wayside Drive headed north and south at I-45 Frontage Road will be closed from through 5 a.m. March 13.
To detour, drivers should make a left turn at the intersection of Griggs Road and Telephone Road.
IH-45 in Galveston County
Traffic should head north on the main lanes of I-45 to make a U-turn at Bay Area Boulevard.
IH-45 Gulf
Two total closures and two outside lanes lasting from through 5 a.m. Monday will affect weekend traffic on I-45 at Gulf.
Drivers on the northbound entrance ramp from Griggs Road should follow the Wayside Drive entrance ramp.
Drivers headed to the northbound exit ramp toward Telephone Road should follow the Wayside Drive exit ramp.
Two outside northbound lanes will also be closed during the same hours from Friday to Monday from Griggs Road to Telephone Road.
IH-610 South Loop
The eastbound connector ramp toward I-45 Gulf Freeway will be closed from through 5 a.m. Monday.
Drivers can exit to I-45 southbound and Broad / Park Place.
