Castlevani­a: Nocturne

Netflix New Series

This latest entry in the anime franchise based on the video-game series is set in 1792 France at the height of the Revolution. In a remote area, the counter-revolution­ary aristocrac­y has forged an alliance with a terrifying vampire messiah (voice of Zahn McClarnon) who promises to “eat the sun” and unleash an army of the undead to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette (Thuso Mbedu), a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont (Edward Bluemel), the last descendant of a long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.

The Golden Bachelor ABC, 7 p.m. New Series

ABC’s senior version of The Bachelor will follow leading man Gerry Turner, a 72-year-old widower and grandpa from Indiana, as he gives love a second chance. Turner was married for 43 years to his high school sweetheart, Toni, who passed away in 2017. “For a while, I was having a hard time figuring out if she would be OK,” Turner says. “But we always told each other, when one of us goes, we want the other one to be happy.”

In “Battlegrou­nd,” the last episode of the season, one contestant tries to turn foes into friends by providing food; other alliances are strained.

Hell’s Kitchen: The American Dream FOX, 7 p.m. Season Premiere

Chef Gordon Ramsay presides over Season 22 of the culinary competitio­n series Hell’s Kitchen. With a special theme of “The American Dream,” this season will focus on uniquely American stories to test contestant­s and push them to their limits.

People’s Choice Country Awards

NBC, 7 p.m. Live; also streams on Peacock This expansion of the People’s Choice Awards, which recognizes the biggest and best that country music has to offer, as chosen entirely by fans across various categories, broadcasts its inaugural edition tonight live from Nashville, Tennessee’s Grand Ole Opry, hosted by Little Big Town. The ceremony will also bestow several honorary awards, including the Country Music Icon award, which will be presented to Toby Keith by Blake Shelton.

Bachelor in Paradise ABC, 8 p.m. Season Premiere

Fan favorites and castoffs of previous seasons of The Bachelor and The Bacheloret­te return for a ninth season of this tropical Bachelor spinoff show that throws together rejected contestant­s for another chance at finding love.

LEGO Masters

FOX, 8 p.m. Season Premiere

Season 4 of the LEGO building competitio­n features even more ambitious challenges, including an explosive volcano build, a kitten pet palace, a remote-control car race and creations inspired by Cirque du Soleil. The winning team takes home a $100,000 cash prize, the ultimate LEGO trophy and the grand title of LEGO Masters. Will Arnett hosts.

A Time to Kill Investigat­ion Discovery, 8 p.m. Season Premiere

The true-crime docuseries returns for Season 9 with “Diamonds Are Not Forever.” As detectives reconstruc­t a single mother’s final 24 hours, their suspicions turn to her fiance, a creepy co-worker and a violent ex-boyfriend. Ultimately, the investigat­ors discover a disturbing pattern of attacks — and a predator with the master key.
