‘Anyone But You’

Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney star in this Australian-shot rom-com about a man and a woman who dislike each other but pretend to be a couple at a friend’s destinatio­n wedding. Rated R. Opens today throughout Houston. ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’

Jason Momoa returns as the undersea superhero, along with Ben Affleck, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Rated PG-13. Opens today throughout Houston. ‘The Boys in the Boat’

George Clooney directs this drama based on true events in which a team of underdog rowers from the University of Washington goes for gold at the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany. Joel Edgerton co-stars.

‘The Color Purple’

Blitz Bazawule (Beyonce’s “Black Is King”) directs this musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s classic novel about the struggle and resilience of a poor African American woman named Celie living in the South in the early 20th century. Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, H.E.R., Jon Batiste and Colman Domingo star. Rated PG-13. Opens Monday throughout Houston.

‘Dunki’

Hindi-language comedy-drama from India about four friends who dream of going to England. Unrated. Opens today throughout Houston. ‘Ferrari’

Adam Driver is nearly unrecogniz­able as Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s look at a pivotal summer in the automobile executive’s tumultuous life. Penélope Cruz and Shailene Woodley co-star.

Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White ("The Bear”) star as two members of the Von Erichs, a North Texas family that made a name for itself in the world of pro wrestling in the ‘80s. The biopic is directed by Sean Durkin ("Martha Marcy May Marlene”). Rated R. Opens today throughout Houston. ‘Menus-Plaisirs — Les Troisgros’

Four-hour documentar­y set inside the world of a three-Michelin-star restaurant in France.

Unrated. Screens 2 p.m. Saturday at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. ‘Migration’

Mike White, of “The White Lotus” fame, co-wrote this animated family film about a family of ducks on vacation. Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key and Elizabeth Banks are part of the voice cast. Rated PG. Opens today throughout Houston. ‘Poor Things’

Awards buzz is loud for this dark comedy from director Yorgos Lanthimos ("The Favourite”) in which a reanimated woman (Emma Stone) with the brain of a child tries to find her way in the world. Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef and Jerrod Carmichael co-star.

Rated R. Opens today throughout Houston. ‘Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire’

The latest from director Zach Snyder is an original science-fiction franchise set on a distant moon whose inhabitant­s are fighting a tyrannical invading army. Charlie Hunnam, Sofia Boutella and Ed Skrein star. Rated PG-13. Begins streaming today on Netflix.

‘Salaar Part One: Ceasefire’

Action-thriller from India in which a gang leader, making good on a promise to a dying friend, declares war on a group of thugs.
