Bregmans launch new salsa brand Wild Sol
Alex Bregman and his wife, Reagan, launched a new Southwest food brand they’re calling Wild Sol. The couple previewed the Wild Sol spirited salsa at Reggie Jackson’s annual Mr. October Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic at Astros owner Jim Crane’s Floridian National Golf Club last Monday. Then they made it public with announcements on their social media pages Wednesday.
The Bregmans sponsored a hole at the celebrity golf tournament and set up a table by the tee box so everyone could try out the new salsas.
“There was a logjam at the 13th hole because people were hanging out eating salsa,” Alex Bregman said.
In 2021, the couple launched Breggy Bomb, which makes a variety of barbecue sauces and rubs as well as a salsa. The salsa will now be branded Wild Sol, with a heavy Southwest flavor from Alex Bregman’s roots growing up in Albuquerque, N.M..
“We’ve spent a lot of effort perfecting this new brand and are so excited for you to try it,” the husband and wife team said in a press release. “We are so grateful for all of the support for Breggy Bomb, and when we put our heads together at night, all we could think about was how to perfect what we already have, and born was Wild Sol. It’s a direct reflection of our hard work and the type of product we want to put our names behind.”
Wild Sol, which is expected to hit Texas store shelves in February, will include four spirited salsas available in 12-ounce jars. According to the company, the salsas are “crafted using vibrant, complex and unexpected flavor combinations, including a splash of tequila or mezcal, which is cooked out.”
Alex Bregman, who turns 30 in March, is entering the final year of the five-year, $100 million contract he signed with the Astros in 2019. Barring another extension, he’ll hit free agency for the first time next offseason. Bregman posted an .804 on-base plus slugging rating last season, including a .901 OPS after the All-Star break to go along with 25 home runs, and he was a finalist for a Gold Glove at third base.
