Several clocks have been placed side by side on a shelf. Two of them are cuckoo clocks. One of the cuckoo clocks is sixth from the left, and the other is the eighth one from the right. There are three other clocks between the two cuckoo clocks. How many clocks are on the shelf?

Solution from the November 2020 issue: The numerals are being subtracted once and then added once to yield the numbers. For 7 and 5, this results in 212 (7 - 5 = 2, and 7 + 5 = 12).
