Michael van Gerwen currently holds the record for the highest televised average of 123.4 for three darts thrown. In 2019, Scottish pro player Peter Wright set the record for the highest broadcast average of 123.5 at the PDC Players Championship. (Players championships are online but not on TV.) Wright is ranked second in the world after top-ranked van Gerwen. Longer matches tend to lower a player’s average because missed darts or low-scoring legs are more likely.
