How old do you have to be to join Mensa?

-

In 2020 a 3-year-old English boy became the youngest current member of Mensa, the world’s oldest and largest society for individuals with a high IQ. Muhammad Haryz Nadzim, whom his mother describes as “very much your typical 3-year-old,” received the invitation after scoring 142 on the Stanfordbinet intelligence assessment. A score above 145 is considered genius or near-genius. Muhammad became the youngest current Mensa member, but he’s not the youngest-ever. Georgia Brown, also of England, joined in 2007 when she was 2 years and 9 months old after scoring 152 points. Her mom insisted she would have done better if she hadn’t needed a nap after concentrating for 45 minutes. The youngest-ever member was a boy several days younger than Georgia when he joined Mensa in the 1990s.
